Patriva Invention
Structured invention disclosure management, automated prior art search, and patentability assessment. Stop spending money on preliminary counsel opinions before you know if an invention is worth pursuing.
The problem
Most organisations manage invention disclosures through email, spreadsheets, and ad hoc counsel engagement. The result is inconsistency, missed opportunities, and avoidable cost.
Disclosures submitted by email get buried. No tracking, no audit trail, no visibility for inventors on the status of their submission.
Without a structured workflow, filing decisions take weeks. By the time a decision is made, a competitor may have already filed.
Engaging counsel for a preliminary patentability opinion costs £500 to £2,000 per disclosure, before you know if it is worth pursuing.
How it works
Every disclosure follows a consistent workflow, from inventor submission to filing decision, with full visibility at every stage.
A guided form captures the invention title, problem, solution, primary business, adjacent areas, known prior art, commercial applications, and estimated commercialisation date. Inventors can attach supporting documents at submission.
The IP manager schedules a review meeting with inventors, internal attorneys, and category leads. The full disclosure and prior art results are automatically included in the Outlook calendar invitation.
Patriva searches the Lens.org patent database using terms extracted from the disclosure. Each result is scored for relevance with a plain English explanation anchored to the specific features of the disclosure.
Patriva generates a structured instruction document for counsel incorporating the automated prior art results. Counsel receives better inputs, and you spend less time preparing the brief.
File, protect as a trade secret, publish to block competitors, place on hold, or decline — with a logged rationale. The inventor is notified automatically at each stage.
Countries, law firm, and filing deadline are recorded against the disclosure, creating a full record from conception to filing.

Designed for two roles
Patriva Invention is built around the two people who matter most in the disclosure process.
Patriva Invention stores attached documents in your organisation's own Microsoft 365 SharePoint environment — not on Patriva's servers. Your IP team retains full control of every file associated with a disclosure.
